SonoMas

This event is definitely not for the faint of heart! SoNoMas  is THE most difficult event that Bike Monkey produces. 34 miles doesn’t sound like a lot but when you add words like “gnarly”, “grueling” and “steep” you’ll think twice. The guys at Bike Monkey recommend some good training before it’s even considered. Levi Leipheimer’s time (2:57’48″) has yet to be beat. He’s certainly proven himself to be more than road worthy. Tour Of California- Killing Time

Thats a wrap! We have just completed our portion of filming for The Levi Effect! It was an amazing experience to travel to 14 different cities documenting Levi behind the scenes. We had special access for the entire tour to go wherever we wanted, including in the time trial car! Certainly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Traveling with the Tour of California doesn’t come without its fun moments. Water damaged hotel rooms, long car rides and chasing down a pro cyclist can be taxing at times but we managed to entertain ourselves.

Boggs

What do 600+ mountain bikers do for fun? Play in the dirt! Bike Monkey’s Boggs 8 hour is more than a race, it’s an experience. It’s also THE race that started Bike Monkey 7 years ago. Team Daydreamer headed to Boggs Mountain State Forest in Middletown to capture the event and capture it we did! We hiked all along the course to sneak some shots at their best. It boggles me to no end how they orchestrate such an amazing event. You just have to see it to believe it. For more shots head over to our SmugMug site!

The Levi Effect Photo Shoot

Working with Levi has always been awesome! The man’s dedication more than shines through in every shot. We got a call from Carlos of Bike Monkey, looking for some photos for a special release for their magazine. The real kicker was they needed it by the next day! So, with a last minute reach to Levi we were able to fire off some shots and get some delivered to Bike Monkey in the nick of time!

Patrick Dempsey- The Longest Short Trip

It’s been awesome to work with pros Carlos Perez & Citizen Pictures on an upcoming documentary! We took a journey to Patrick Dempsey’s to film his segment. It was the longest short trip we have ever taken! We left at 3am and got back to our home base 23 hours later.  Patrick is an amazing guy to be around. He took us around his property and showed us his organic garden, Dr. Seuss “like” chickens and ridiculously comfortable home. He made us feel at home and treated us like one of his own. Levi’s GranFondo

As some of you may know, we have been shooting a documentary on the importance of cycling in the this region, Sonoma County in particular. This is a segment that we put together for Levi’s Gran Fondo. It is a spectacular sight to see 7,500 cyclists. As far as the eye can see! It was truly inspiring to be a part of such an amazing day. Last year the event raised over $175,000 for local charities like Forget Me Not Farm , local schools and Livestrong. Carlos & Greg from Bike Monkey Magazine put on an unbelievable event.
