Mementum

Time Flips, Bottles Break, and Nobody Got Paid Enough

Levi Leipheimer and Greg Fisher parody Memento in Culture Pop’s “Mementum,” a Santa Rosa-based cycling promo for Levi’s Gran Fondo featuring backwards storytelling, custom tattoos, and unforgettable chaos.

A Bleached Hero, a Porn Stache, and One Deeply Confused Audience

Mementum is our absurdly ambitious tribute to Memento, complete with backwards storytelling, fake tattoos, and an all-star lineup of Bike Monkey misfits. Shot over two wild days in Santa Rosa, it’s a parody that looks way better than it should… and hurts just enough to remember.

Mementum – Culture Pop DNA

We had no idea this one would turn into the beautiful, backwards brain-bender it became. What started as a promo for Levi’s Gran Fondo spiraled into a full-blown Memento parody, starring Bike Monkey’s Greg Fisher (with bleached blonde hair) as the confused antihero and Levi Leipheimer (yes, with a glorious 1970s ‘stache) as the shifty sidekick Teddy.

Everything plays in reverse. And yes, we committed fully. That meant faux tattoos, custom props, cameras taped to bike wheels, motel room conspiracy walls, a bloody stunt gone too real (Levi got clocked for real), and a suspicious hotel manager who thought we were filming porn.

The cast includes Greg Fisher, Levi Leipheimer, Carlos Perez, Adam Menconi, Yuri Hauswald, and Taylor Scott (who also co-wrote it with Jamie Tuell and stepped in last minute as the bartender when his buddy Pete… well, couldn’t hang). Pete sadly passed a year later, and this post lovingly carries his memory.

Shot entirely in Santa Rosa at Hillside Motel, Toad in the Hole Tavern, and various downtown streets (yep, we got a warning letter from the City for going full rogue).

No regrets. Only glorious confusion, and how much we could flex within a two day period.
