Welcome to suburban nightmare fuel.
Walk in Closet is a pitch-black short about a couple who discovers their new home may come with some extra storage, and a direct line to eternal damnation. Winner of the Alexander Film Festival Audience Award, this stylish horror-comedy blends existential dread with IKEA-level commitment issues. Hugh Jackman cameo not included… but kind of.
Walk In Closet – Culture Pop DNA
Shot on RED with a lean, six-person crew from Culture Pop Films, Walk in Closet is the rare short that manages to be deeply unsettling and weirdly charming, often in the same breath. Written by actress Carly Nykanen and directed by Jamie Tuell, the film leans into surreal pacing and deadpan horror to unpack everything from marriage tension to real estate hellscapes. Carly not only delivers a stellar performance but also penned a phenomenal script that anchors the entire piece. Rick Gomez (Silo, Sin City, Band of Brothers, Justified) brings his signature intensity and nuance, while Adam Menconi holds his own, despite constantly reminding us he was once an extra in City of Angels with Nicolas Cage. Light CGI was used to enhance the demon’s reveal without overshadowing the practical work. The entire project was set up, shot, and wrapped in a single day. That’s how we flex. The film took home the Audience Award at the Alexander Film Festival and continues to delight (and disturb) wherever it screens.
